Town of Riverhead

Located on the north shore of Long Island in Suffolk County is the Town of Riverhead. In the heart of the town is the Peconic River. It is named after the mouth of this river. It originally was part of the town of Southold, however it was split up and made into its own town because the land was too long, making it inconvenient to do town business for the residents.
